A shared background in theater (as well as our bride’s love for her time spent teaching elementary school) guided the theme for Andrea and Phinny’s sunny Malibu wedding. Chalkboards, school craft paper, and impromptu tambourine and kazoo serenades infused the occasion with nostalgic whimsy, while a floral medley of ranunculus, garden roses, tulips, and white peonies (and an orchid-topped cake!) added a touch of romance.

Today we’re excited to share a quick peek of details from a lovely Saddlerock Ranch wedding we helped coordinate a few years ago.  The ceremony took place at Chateau Le Dome, a stunning overlook, and was followed by a vineyard reception featuring french catering and rustic decor.  The rustic vineyard theme was balanced by blush details and soft feminine florals woven throughout.  We had a blast helping on this one and hope you enjoy the quick trip down memory lane!

We are only two months into 2016 and I am already itching to see some new color combinations! For those of you out there who don’t follow the wedding business closely, I’ll tell you that we’ve been seeing a LOT of blush and baby blue after Pantone announced the two shades as their “color of 2016”. Now, Rose Quartz (blush) and Serenity (baby blue) are lovely colors, yes. And I appreciate that Pantone changed it up this year, selecting such soft colors after seven years of vibrant choices.  But…my mind is already ticking along looking for a change.

The five color combinations here have been swirling around in my imagination for a while, inspiring different stories.  So when we passed by Côte (our favorite five-free nail salon) earlier in the week and I noticed all ten of these colors perched on little shelves, I thought I’d take the opportunity to pair them up to share with you!  I hope these color combinations spark your imagination as they have mine!

  • 1. I am currently obsessed with this soft lavender.  It carries an antique quality with a touch of warmth and a lovely dustiness.
  • 2. This navy is perfection.  Paired with a yellow-tinged cream it becomes clean and elegant, the combination timeless.
  • 3. A periwinkle on the edge of vibrant paired with a dusky navy.
  • 4. We keep seeing Pantone's "Sharkskin" everywhere and we're into it.  I imagine this grey pairing nicely with a perfect raspberry - a slight shift from the classic Raspberry and Black theme.
  • 5. A pure marigold with a dark green works well for summer into fall.  It feels fresh, warm, and open, holding an opportunity for nostalgia.

It’s well-known around here that Cassandra LOVES holiday weddings, so this one is extra fun to share with you all. The combination of the Jonathan Club’s elegant, mature backdrop and our couple’s rock-and-roll vibe set up a gorgeous and romantic contrast of elements. We loved working closely with the Jonathan Club’s resident floral designer to play it all up while incorporating a Christmas theme, and particularly relished the opportunity to create ornaments to compliment the escort cards! It all came together to become a Christmas celebration of love that led to a dance party with the band going well into the night and past schedule!

We just loved working with Kaylin and Steve to put together this wedding. It was all about family and fun, and their joy was evident all throughout the process. And in the end, we felt so honored to be there to see the family glow with happiness all evening.

Two of our favorite details: the crazy sunset (we’ve included a spectacular photo below) and the fun dessert options. This perfectly-matched couple wasn’t feeling the cake thing, so they surprised their guests with Sprinkles Ice Cream – YUM! (Don’t worry, their guests were treated to both cake AND cupcakes!  Sugar rushes all around!)

Julia and Mike’s soft, sweet, joyful, and easy-going wedding was a perfect reflection of their relationship.  It was so hard to select the photos for this post – there are dozens just bursting with happiness! And for everyone who wants to believe in love at first sight, look no further. It happened to Julia and Mike – their entire wedding party attested to it while toasting the couple throughout the evening! We all certainly felt it that night, and we will never forget seeing the sparks between these two each time their eyes met.

We were smitten with this bride from the first call but her hot pink capris lead us into a design for her entire wedding weekend that was fun, colorful and vibrant. While the couple met while rowing in college, it was the bride’s home state that made for the perfect celebration. A dusting of rain during their vows, couldn’t keep their happy and uplifting spirits down. The reception started with an all-star band and conga line and lasted well into the wee hours.

  • Enjoyed reading this posting. My nephew was diagnosed at 13 years, now 17. He appears so grown up about it, but I worry so much about him especially now that he is a teenager. He has had quite a few hypos – scary. Working with him presently to get his levels right.

  • I like that pic in the powder room much better than the apples. For some reason, food and/or kitchen type acesesorics are weird to me in the loo!!Love how you changed the frame color.

This sweet New York couple wanted a low-key and lovely celebration set in a resort atmosphere. Terranea provided the backdrop with an unobstructed coastal views from ceremony through cocktails. The Catalina Ballroom onsite offered up an evening filled with dinner and dancing. Perfect in it’s simplicity Brooke & Mark’s wedding hit the sweet spot!

Our Beautiful Day, short term wedding planning team, helped pull of this Beverly Hills bash with glamour and grandeur. Our sweet bride, Sade, knew what she wanted and thought about all the little details down to the sparkly S on the aisle runner.  Sade and Nick’s First Look took place at the Tiffany & Co. Staircase on Rodeo Drive.
What we love about this wedding is the intimacy of the event. The couple shared their big day with the people who mattered the most, close family and friends. The small celebration was a dream come true for Sade and a joy for the forty guests in attendance. Congrats to our Sade and Nick! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and success.

  • Outstanding weblog right here! Also your website internet site loads up incredibly swiftly! What host have you been using? Am I able to get your internet affiliate website link for your host? I would like my world-wide-web web page loaded up as fast as yours lol

  • Holy Toledo, so glad I clicked on this site first!

  • Does anyone know where/how to order the high wedges online? I need them for my wedding and can only find the mid wedges which are too low. Can you order through the showroom??

    • Cassandra S.

I believe those heels were pumps and not wedges. Nordstroms and Saks have a great selection. Hope that helps!

  • Lovely wedding! Sade and Nick are looking great together. Their peach color beautiful stationary seems perfect for their hill style wedding, especially the elegant invitation and place cards. I also want to design similar colorful invitation cards for Christian wedding.

Alex & Errie’s wedding was not only a lovely site to be seen but a true meeting of the minds. These two PhDs let us guide their wedding planning through wedding day filled with wit and style. The stunning backdrop of one of our favorite venues in Malibu, Stone Manor provided a tranquil setting from sunset through end of night.
