Every time we see this photo of Courtney’s happy face the morning of her Terranea Resort celebration it reminds us of why all the work is worth it.  Being a part of one of the happiest times in a couple’s journey is such an honor; it’s thrilling and rewarding and satisfies the sucker-for-love that exists in most of us wedding professionals.  We hope you like this little flashback to Courtney and Pascal’s sparkly summer seaside wedding as much as we enjoyed helping put it together!

A shared background in theater (as well as our bride’s love for her time spent teaching elementary school) guided the theme for Andrea and Phinny’s sunny Malibu wedding. Chalkboards, school craft paper, and impromptu tambourine and kazoo serenades infused the occasion with nostalgic whimsy, while a floral medley of ranunculus, garden roses, tulips, and white peonies (and an orchid-topped cake!) added a touch of romance.

Ashley was the third of her parents’ three daughters to be married within an eighteen-month time span and the entire family couldn’t have been lovelier.  Our bride opted for minimal florals and design, allowing the stunning Pelican Hill location to take center stage, so we turned our design attention to incorporating Italian-inspired details throughout the venue, using branchy table arrangements and soft spot pin lighting.  The bride was pro-dance party from day one and, after a reception featuring one of the most memorable father-of-the-bride speeches I have ever heard, we made it happen!  Ashley and her groom had such a ball that she eventually cut off some of her wedding gown to be more unencumbered on the dance floor – what a moment!

What a treat it was to help throw an intimate Malibu home wedding for Sunghee & Mike!  Stunning views, piano and strings played by a talented trio, and soft candlelight brought romance and warmth to the joyful atmosphere.  After a beautiful sunset cocktail reception, the couple revealed a special surprise for their guests, donning traditional Korean attire to present a personalized version of a ring ceremony.  The delighted guests were then treated to cake and coffee and enjoyed the Malibu coastline well into the night.

When we found out that Cassandra’s hometown friends Jenn and Brian decided to have their wedding in Santa Monica, we were jumping with excitement!  Jenn and Brian bring love and laughter everywhere they go, and we knew their wedding would be no exception.  Held under the shade of the coral tree at The Fairmont Miramar, the ceremony drew many to tears – our favorite moment was watching the couple’s two toddlers make their own way down the aisle!  Following an outdoor reception, the party went well into the night at The Fairmont, guests enjoying a breakdancing performance, a silhouette artist, toasts, and an impressive first dance from the bride and groom!  We laughed, we cried, it was all we expected and more.

The style was relaxed and fun with a touch of whimsy at this Malibu backyard morning wedding. The couple opted against formality and instead created a cozy day for their friends and loved ones, inviting their closest guys and gals to wear lovely green dresses and grey suits in lieu of establishing a formal bridal party. Some of the sweetest moments we remember were the guests’ surprised reactions to the “mock Polaroids” created from old photographs the couple had on hand.  We are so happy to have been a part of creating Mia and Damon’s unique celebration!

Kristen and Riley had just moved to the Caribbean from NYC when they decided to have a Southern California wedding, and we were so happy to be a part of their destination event!  The bride was an absolute sweetheart and the connection between her and her groom touched our hearts.  Travel was the overarching theme of the wedding and deep fuchsia and navy were woven into the design and venue.  We absolutely loved the map-themed details created by Figmint Design and will always remember the beautifully-tied ribbon on Kristen’s bouquet – a perfectly elegant touch.

Viveka was a girly girl who loved horseback riding (and also happened to be finishing up Law School!) and Matt was a beach-loving Pro Surfer. Together they were as cute and sweet as a couple could be. Their big day started with a ceremony at the gorgeous St. Monica Church and ended with a sunset-soaked outdoor reception at Saddlerock Ranch. The venue was a perfect match for their casual nature-loving style and we loved bringing it all together to fulfill their vision for a romantic, rustic celebration.

When I met Aubrey, I immediately fell in love with her personal and event style. Her vision was of a sophisticated, modern wedding reception overlooking the ocean from the bluff at Terranea Resort and it was my pleasure to collaborate with her to bring it all to life. Wayfarers Chapel was the site of the bride’s parents’ wedding 30 years prior and thus provided a meaningful unifying theme for the design, its clean, angular lines reflected throughout the wedding.

This darling couple wanted a wedding that honored not only their Indian heritage but also their fun-loving Californian spirit. Setting the stage at The Sunset was a special task, as they wanted to enjoy a beach ceremony with an upscale garden reception, followed by a surprise dance party inside the venue after the dinner-hour toasts. Confetti canons cascaded over the couple as they cut their cake and danced well into the night, which was a request from the bride on day one. Rashi & Manoj stole our hearts from the start and we’re honored to continue a friendship that we hope lasts for years to come!
